* The Costume Institute Gala held their annual fund-raiser for the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute, which took place this past Monday May 5th. The red carpet brought out tastemakers and fashionistas galore and hosted by Aerin Lauder, Bradley Cooper, Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, and of course the iconic Anna Wintour.
Each year brings a new theme, this one being Charles James: Beyond Fashion, and can be seen from May 8-August 10 at the Met. A very exclusive guest list is all the rage and has A-listers vying to go. Check out some of the amazing looks worn by Beyonce, Jay-Z, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Reese Witherspoon.
* The 100th Annual White House Correspondent’s Association dinner took place this past Saturday May 3rd at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington DC. What used to be seen as a go to only for press and politicos, has now become a draw for movie star A-listers. E! and “Community” star Joel McHale hosted the evening with jabs for everyone. Not to be outdone, the President himself got up and was able to laugh at himself and a few snafus that have taken place. The healthcare.gov being a highlight and saying to CNN in regards to their missing flight Malaysia coverage that “I think they’re still searching for their tables!”

LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling was officially banned from the NBA for life. He will be suing and fighting this in court, however in the meantime the NBA has made a strong stance wanting nothing to do with the owner. V. Stiviano, the woman in the tapes with him was interviewed by Barbara Walters on “20/20” that left people feeling unsatisfied. The real questions that people wanted answered seemed to slide by. Who was she really to Donald Sterling? Why did she record the conversations? Who are these “thugs” that she brings to the games? This is a real life soap opera unfolding before our eyes.
