The hottest thing to go down this past week in Los Angeles was Beyoncé and Jay Z. Their “On the Run Tour” finally made its way to Los Angeles over the weekend, and it brought out the entire town.
Their 21-city tour kicked off on June 25 and has enticed everyone under the sun, including Michelle Obama and her two daughters Sasha and Malia at the Chicago date. This weekend’s show, which took place at the famed Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and was nothing short of spectacular. Just going on Instagram on Monday, there was picture after picture of a dancing Beyoncé and rapping Jay Z.
After their August 2 date was announced, it sold out so quickly that another show was added. These two know how to put on a show with a running theme. Nonstop for two and a half hours, they had flames, dancers, costume changes and panache. With stars like Natalie Portman, Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie and Lea Michele in attendance, this show was the place to be.
There was a surprise that did catch most people off guard, and that was the rain! The show began with rain coming down in what appeared to be some serious East Coast, humid, muggy weather. That didn’t stop the Carters from putting on a killer show, though.
These two not only perform, they don’t miss a beat from beginning to end, paying attention to every detail. When the duo had quiet moments and kissed, the crowd went wild. At the end of the show, they ended with “Forever Young” and had a family montage displayed on the large screen – home video footage, shots from their family vacations and baby Blue Ivy’s birth. Even ending by saying, “This is real life, love the Carters.”
Even if you aren’t a fan, the performance that these two put on is impeccable. There are just a few more shows in San Francisco and Paris left, good luck catching one if you can!
