Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Michelle in 10 Cloverfield Lane.
One of the most surefire ways of turning up the heat on a summer romance is sitting down to watch a scary movie together at home. You’re huddled close together in the dark, hands resting on each other’s leg in case something jumps out at the onscreen hero – what could be better? I have the perfect one for you, too: One of the best thrillers I’ve seen in a while, 10 Cloverfield Lane, is out now on DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand.
The feature directorial debut from Dan Trachtenberg stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) as Michelle, who suffers a car crash and wakes up in the underground bunker of a doomsday prepare named Howard (John Goodman). While he informs her that the world outside has experienced an apocalyptic attack that has left the air unbreathable – and a lone other inhabitant of the bunker, Emmett, supports these theories – Howard’s actions arouse doubt and suspicion. Michelle – and viewers – is left wondering which is less creepy: underground in the bunker or above ground with poison air.
The Blu-ray Combo Pack includes commentary from Trachtenberg and producer J.J. Abrams (who also produced 2008’s Cloverfield) and over 30 minute of special behind-the-scenes footage. With its mysterious characters, jump scares and epic finale, 10 Cloverfield Lane is the perfect film to cuddle close with your intended this summer.
10 Cloverfield Lane is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, On Demand and Digital HD.
