After successful events in Miami and Los Angeles, the trendy Vida Lexus experience ventured into a new city. On August 7, Latino movers and shakers attended the hottest party in town. The event paired some of San Diego’s trendiest and award winning Latin restaurants with live art and music. Sabor De Lujo showcased some of San Diego’s award winning culinary dishes reflecting many taste and flavors of Latin America.
Attendees to the event tasted the flavorful offerings from Chef/Restaurateur Javier Plascencia from Romesco Mexiterranean Bistro, is one of the most celebrated Mexican chefs in the world; he was named Chef of the Year by San Diego Eater, Best Chef 2014 by San Diego Magazine, and San Diego’s most Innovative Chef by ZAGAT. Chef Mario Montes from El Agave Restaurant and Tequilería; an establishment that has received many awards for its unique Mexican cuisine, variety of tequilas, true Mexican flavors, voted best of the city, best mole, best Mexican Restaurant in San Diego by Union Tribune, New York Times, Estilo Gourmet and many others.
Chef Erik Rios from the host venue Jolt n Joes also offered tasty appetizers.
The event provided an assortment of multi-sensory activities and a palate-pleasing experience. World-renowned muralist Victor Ochoa offered a live art demonstration. Victor has participated in exhibits in New York City, San Francisco, Tijuana, Mexico City, Vancouver Canada, Barcelona Spain, and his proud accomplishment, The Bi-Annual exhibit in Venice, Italy.
Univision Radio personality Donaji hosted the evening’s festivities. Donaji was born in Mexico City and now resides in Southern California. She received her first big break with Spanish radio station Super Estrella 107.1, and later became a DJ/announcer with LA’s first official reggaeton station, Latino 96.3. She now forms part of the Univision Radio team and can be heard across the country via the Uforia App.
In an effort to create a unique and innovative culinary experience that recognizes the essential part of Latino culture, Lexus launched its first Sabor De Lujo in 2010 in Miami, the event expanded to Los Angeles in 2013; and now the San Diego County Lexus Dealers brought the event to San Diego.
