Universal CityWalk held their annual tree-lighting ceremony Thursday night with a special performance by actress and R&B singer Tamar Braxton.
Braxton performed songs from her new holiday album, Winter Loversland, and sang a duet with her sister Trina. She was also on hand to sign copies of her new album after her performance.
Braxton is coming off a cross-country tour with John Legend, and has recently released an R&B album titled Love & War, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts.
LA Family Housing, a beneficiary organization of Universal Studios’ Discover A Star Foundation, was also present at the ceremony, and children from the organization had the opportunity to meet Santa and sit on the stage while Braxton performed.
A delighted crowd was on hand to enjoy the performance, but most of all, to witness the beautiful tree lighting next to the cinemas. The giant tree is handsomely decorated with over 100,00 LED lights, and will be the cornerstone of Universal CityWalk for the rest of the holiday season.
Throughout the holiday season, patrons at Universal CityWalk will be treated to free outdoor concerts, holiday celebrations, as well as $2 parking for cinema patrons.
