With sunny weather coming to Los Angeles, Universal Studios Hollywood is the perfect place to take a family for a day of fun and adventure.
Located in Universal City, Calif. and only about 11 miles from downtown Los Angeles, this amusement park coupled with the iconic studio tour is sure to have the visitors of all ages engaged and excited.
Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the most exciting theme parks because it is a working movie studio that began in 1915 with having guests to the backstage tour, showing them the props to the classic movies, as well as films and other TV shows that have been produced in the backlot. In the 1960s, the theme park was introduced and has grown and seen the addition of roller coasters, other thrill rides and high-tech attractions that have drawn people from all over the world to witness this iconic park.
The fact that the park is close to the heart of Hollywood in Los Angeles has helped with the increases in the use of film and other technology to tell the stories of the movies and bring them to life. The Shrek 4-D movie experience has audiences enjoying moving seats and other enchantments that make the movie more interactive and engaging to all ages.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is a new ride at the park. It opened this past April, and it has visitors turned into silly minions from the world-wide success films Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 (that brought in millions at the box office) and help Gru in one of his schemes for world domination.
Although the rides help to attract people from all over the world to this iconic park, the studio tour that winds itself through the grounds is the heart and soul of what makes Universal Studios Hollywood have the name it does to everyone attending. Trams still take eager visitors, movie fans, and others behind the scenes of real sets, post-production buildings, and of course being face to face with some of the biggest beasts in Hollywood like Jaws or King Kong.
Other rides and thrills that can be enjoyed by visitors include the finale of Jurassic Park that has a boatload of visitors narrowly escaping the clutches of a T. Rex by falling down a steep 84-foot drop and Transformers: The Ride-3D, has technology that has visitors carried through motion base vehicles that provide action that is up close and engaging for all ages.
Those interested in visiting the park prices for one day for ages 3-9 are $79 or 10+ are $87. For a year -long membership that contains exclusive Annual Pass holder member benefits and special offers the price for 3+ is $119.
