The Latin pop-rock music trio of Sasha, Benny, Erik delighted the audience with a spectacular Los Angeles concert at The Wiltern Friday night.
They performed their biggest hits of their musical career within a finely developed and elegant stage. The trio are former members of Timbiriche.
This concert is part of the successful tour that the group is doing in different parts of Mexico and the United States, and with which they delivered to their audience a show full of memories.
Sasha, Benny, Erik launched solo careers, but these folks turned to a magnificent idea of forming a group. Together, they’ve created a very unique musical concept. And, because of that, they decided to record the live album Primera Fila, which contains the biggest hits of their solo careers. This notion proved to be a success, as people accepted them immediately and clearly identified themselves the trio’s way of making music.
Primera Fila is a Latin pop-rock album that released in November 2012; it was recorded in Mexico City with producer Aureo Baqueiro. The album contains 13 songs, including two new tracks by the titles “Cada Beso” and “Solo Tú.”
These particular former members of Timbiriche showed that they’re well-integrated as a group. They have many things in common, not only in the form of singing and composing, but also in the way they handled their solo careers as well as in life. And, on stage, it showed; their chemistry turned out to be beyond effective and efficient.
The audience at The Wiltern received an astonishing performance from Sasha, Benny, Erik, whom were dressed very casual but without losing the poise and elegance that has always characterized them. They looked adorabled side-to-side and singing next to each other.
The concert itself lasted a little over 90 minutes; the public enjoyed each single second and they appeared to want more and more as the event progressed. There is one important thing to note, which I noticed, and that’s that they project a union that few groups can and have together over the years. The way they interact while a live show is very unique in that at all times the three sing together, which suggests that there is strong support for each other.
From their days with Timbiriche, major hits like “Si No Es Ahora,” “Muriendo Lento,” “Con Todos Menos Conmigo,” and “Ámame Hasta Con Los Dientes,” among others, were performed. That was a true delight; it brought back memories to all of us.
On top of that, each singer offered songs from their solo repertoire: Sasha sang “Rueda Mi Mente” and “Serás El Aire;” Benny and his memorable tune “Sin Ti” captivated; and Erik’s “Cuando Mueres Por Alguien” musically enriched the night. It was interesting to see them display these melodies with their peers sporadically doing vocals and chorus in fabulous fashion.
One of the highlights of the night came when the trio took part in a short tribute to Spanish rock icon Gustavo Cerati. They played his great and emblematic songs.
In all, it was an excellent concert, which was concrete and covered almost all of their music catalogue. Sasha, Benny, Erik delighted.
