During a Friday night, the place to be is definitely at Avalon Hollywood. Such was the case with Fehrplay providing the entertainment on January 23rd.
Lazy Rich (a talented UK artist) and Eekkoo (one of the newest artists to sign on to Deadmau5’s prolific label Mau5trap) served electrifying supporting sets. They both were beyond solid in their separate sets.
Fehrplay, whom we know well from the 2010 solid release of “Meow,” had everyone inside the venue moving in every direction; that there was insane (in an entertaining-type way). The sound was strong and visuals were enticing; the sold-out crowd got a full charge out of the whole experience.
It’s without a doubt that I must say that Fehrplay, currently, is atop of the progressive house scene. This is especially true with the “Meow” and “Ayita” being part of the musical repertoire.
Believe it or not, security and bartenders couldn’t help but move along to the music either. Though comical at times, it was fascinating to witness that. Fehrplay responded to the fans every time the chance came up; it was distinctive and invigorating.
The 19+ to enter and 21+ to drink show didn’t end until 3 a.m. and even at that hour, everyone was still high on the music. The feeling when exiting this venue after dancing your heart out was extraordinary; never before had I felt that.
