Amid a raucous sellout crowd at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., Chris Brown and Trey Songz wrapped up their “Between The Sheets Tour” Sunday, March 8, 2015. The tour was co-headlined by Brown and Songz, and featured rapper Tyga as the opening act.
Fans wore their Sunday best to the packed house, with most in attendance wearing nightclub attire. The arena was virtually full from the beginning, as many people were also there to see opening act, Tyga.
Wearing a pair of white Air Jordan III’s, the oft-maligned Chris Brown danced the night away in a black baseball jacket and black baseball cap, just days after his controversial breakup with on-again-off-again girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. The 25-year-old was his usual energetic self, bringing his best dance moves and all of his musical repertoire to the final leg of the 23-city American arena tour that began January 27 in Hampton, Virginia.
Chris Brown’s loaded set let featured fan favorites, “Deuces,” “Run It” and “Bullshit,” as well as a variety of other hits that moved the sellout crowd in Inglewood back and forth and up and down.
Prior to that, Songz did more than just warm up the crowd for Brown, as the 30-year-old R&B singer from Petersburg, Virginia brought all of the hits he boasts to the venue. Both Brown and Songz were touring in support of their sixth albums, X and Trigga, respectively.
Among his notable hits, Songz sang his three-times Platinum hit, “Bottom’s Up,” as well “Na Na” and “New Flame.”
The women in the packed Forum were particularly delighted when Songz sang hits “Say Aah” and “I Invented Sex.” The audience went along with Songz every step of the way, and the singer knew well and how to work the crowd.
Prior to Brown and Songz, Tyga opened the night right at 7:30 p.m. and brought an immediate sense of energy to the former home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. And just like Brown and Songz did following his set, the Compton-born rapper brought quite the repertoire of songs to stage, performing hits “Ayo,” “Rack City,” “Make It Nasty” and “Faded” to the approval of everyone in attendance.
But unlike Brown and Songz, the 25-year old local talent nicknamed T-Raww got cozy with the audience, as he exited stage right and into the crowd to wrap up his set. Tyga, who is rumored to be dating Kylie Jenner, not only jumped into the aisles at The Forum, but also got into one of the first rows in section 125 of the arena, causing a big commotion among fans.
The 2015 year has been a tumultuous one for Brown, to say the least. His highly publicized breakup from Tran was announced by the 26-year-old Tran on Twitter, and back in January, five people were shot outside a club in San Jose, Calif. while the star was performing.
Brown will continue to tour in the United States for the rest of this month, while Songz will go on a European tour for the remainder of the month.
