Angelica Maria touched the hearts of all those in attendance at “Noche De Recuerdo.” (@gilsweber)
In an unprecedented show May 21 at the Microsoft Theater titled “Noche De Recuerdo,” Angélica Maria shined. The Downtown concert also featured the return to the stage for Elio Roca and King Clave, as well as three of the most romantic groups in recent memory. The audience was comprised of both old and young fans, full of nostalgia and wishing to relive a time when music was all about love.
The headliner of the event was Angélica Maria, who made her triumphant return to the stage in Los Angeles. She was also joined by Los Ángeles Negros, Los Solitarios and Los Terrícolas.
The show was opened by Los Ángeles Negros promptly at 8 p.m., with “Dejenme Si Estoy LLorando”, one of their biggest hits. Los Solitarios followed with “Nunca Digas” – and it should be noted that this is one of the only bands ever to still use their original lead singer going on 50 years. Up next were Los Terricolas, who performed “Llorarás” and “Te Juro Que Te Amo.”
Finally, Angélica Maria came on stage dressed in an elegant blue gown, which gave her quite the regal look. Just like the other acts of the night, her show was very subtle and not overwhelmed with elaborate light displays or other theatrics. Just a backdrop curtain and her musicians were all that was necessary for her to touch the hearts of all those in attendance. She began with “Con Beso Pequeñisimo,” and it was obvious her voice is still as captivating as ever.
Just like other great artists characterized by humility and love of their fans, Angélica Maria continues to delight her audiences, and it should be no surprise that this show is a lead up to her receiving one of the most coveted recognitions for any artist – her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
