Taking slow, yet firm steps forward, young singer/songwriter Ana Victoria continues to win the hearts of the Latin public in the US, as was the case at her intimate concert at the House of Blues in Hollywood where she made quite an impression.
Heir to extraordinary talent, the daughter of great Argentine singers Amanda Miguel and Diego Verduger has taken great strides to solidify her career in recent months and has independently opened doors for herself, which makes it clear she wants to step out of her famous parents’ shadows.
No stranger to controversy, the young singer/songwriter has taken criticism and been accused of copying her parents’ style. However, Ana Victoria completely dismisses it all and has clearly demonstrated it is of no concern to her and that she’s become accustomed to it.
Ana Victoria may look like her parents, but she definitely has a style all her own. She has stated the last thing she would ever want is to sound like her mother, and has no interest in singing her mother’s songs.
A fantastic testament to her eclectic style is her last album, Color Amor, which she released in 2013. Comprised of live performances, this project brought her on the mainstream and introduced her to a legion of fans. This project led to her Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Singles from this album include “Simplemente Amor” and “Si Manana No Me Ves”.
Color Amor also includes classic songs by legends such as Jose Jose, Julio Iglesias, Enanitos Verdes, Marco Antonio Solis, and Ricardo Montaner, as well as a song in English by Lenny Kravitz – all of whom have either been musically influential or part of her personal life.
The album has already gone gold in Mexico and Ana Victoria has stated how proud she is to now promote it in the US, where similar success is all but guaranteed.
The young artist performed in front of a young, ethnically mixed crowd at the House of Blues who gave her a warm reception. She performed songs from Color Amor which proved to be familiar to the crowd on hand. Ana Victoria wore a simple ensemble which highlighted her sensuality, and her soft, yet potent voice managed to enamor those in the crowd who were seeing her live for the first time.
Although her set was relatively short at 30 minutes and only 6 songs, it was enough to reveal this shining star and the bright future ahead of her.
Ana Victoria’s album is available on all digital platforms, and her tour continues throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
