Ana Bárbara celebrated 20 years in the music business Saturday night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The show was full of surprises, including the unexpected appearance by Marco Antonio Solís, who was on hand to personally congratulate her.
2014 is slated to be Ana Bárbara’s year, who after a long hiatus from the stage, plans to make her triumphant return with a new album and a series of concerts on tour through Mexico, U.S., and Latin America. This show at the Dolby was no exception, and her loyal Hollywood fans welcomed her with open arms.
Her new album Ahora Me Toca A Mi, out now in stores and on iTunes, already has 2 hit singles in “Tu Ingratitud” and “Ahora Me Toca A Mi.”
In a show lasting over 2 hours, Ana Bárbara delivered an excellent and complete performance. It featured a wide variety of effects and costume changes, all very entertaining. She was joined onstage by her special guests, dancers and a mariachi band. She wore a lovely white gown with angel wings, and looked absolutely stunning.
Among the fan favorites in her performance were songs such as “Loca,” “Nada,” “La Trampa,” and “No Llorare” – all of which were very well-received.
For the second, more romantic part of her show, she sang tunes such as “Un Alma Perdida,” and “Como Me Haces Falta.” She also thanked Marco Antonio Solís for always being there for her throughout her career.
A third set of more intense songs came, and she performed hits such as “Paloma Negra,” “Por Que Me Haces Llorar,” “Llorona,” and “Probablemente Ya.”
The fourth and final set was all banda, and she delighted the crowd with “El Sinaloense” and “Sacudeme,” among others.
Legends such as Pepe Aguilar, Cristian Castro and Enrique Iglesias all sent words of love and support, and Marco Antonio Solís surprised her live onstage. She couldn’t hold back the tears, which made for a very moving moment.
Ana Bárbara even sang a duet with her son, who may very well follow in his mother’s footsteps with his tremendous talent.
Without a doubt, it was a great night, and a very complete performance – letting us all know Ana Bárbara is back, and better than ever.
