Head over to La Brea Tarpits Park on Sept. 24 for the 14th annual Tarfest.
While most Angelenos usually only make a visit to the La Brea Tar Pits when they have visitors in town, the park adjacent to the L.A. landmark is host to many community events throughout the year. From pet adoption fairs to Launch LA’s annual Tarfest. On Saturday, Sept. 24, the music and art festival presents its 14th iteration at La Brea Tar Pits Park from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and as in year’s past, Tarfest is all ages and completely free.
Along with DJ sets from Ale, Mitchell Brown, T-Kay, Slayron and Sleano of dublab, headlining this year’s festival is Dear Boy. Durand Jones & the Indications, Brit Manor and Braeves are also set to perform.
There is going to be dance performances by Move the World Dance Activist in collaboration with the Diabolo Institute and Clairobscur Dance Company, a silent art auction, light artistry, live projections and art installations by Meeson Pae Yang and Ryan McCann.
Children can enjoy art activities, while those over 21 can kick back at the Lagunitas Biergarten & Wine Bar while sampling some food from trucks like Meat the Greek, Baby’s Badass Burgers and Rice Balls of Fire.
