Queen and Adam Lambert continue their 24-show tour of North America in Los Angeles. The highly successful and well-acclaimed band that planted their roots back in London in the 1970s arrives at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on July 3 to rock the night away.
With wild success as a band, Queen is set to deliver a performance that is sure to impress people from around the world, who will be singing along to many of their top hits, including “We Are the Champions,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and “We Will Rock You.”
Queen began their path to success in London in the 1970s. They originally consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass) and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Their early music was influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but because of the radio their genre became more conventional and allowed for them to increase their popularity with more diverse styles.
Their Billboard success began with “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which remained on the UK Singles charts for nine weeks and had them debut on the US Hot 100 within the Top 10. With the release of News of the World, the band put out two songs, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions,” that today are two of rock’s most recognizable anthems. In the 1980s, their hit “Another One Bites the Dust” became their best-selling single, but by 1991 – with the passing of Mercury and Deacon’s retirement from the band – May and Taylor would only play off and on. That is, until March of this year when the band announced on “Good Morning America” that they would join with Adam Lambert to tour North America this summer and Australia in August/September.
The band have released a total of 18 No. 1 albums, 18 No. 1 singles and 10 No. 1 DVDs. Estimates of their record sales generally range from 150 million to 300 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
