It’s getting close to that time of 2015 where we start to see Star Wars creep in everywhere. Just to make sure that you never go a second with out the Force nearby, the official app has been released.

Download it for free and get a ton of goodies in the palm of your hand. The app loads fast and lets you choose the interface that suits you: the Force, the Dark Side or Droid. All of the content is the same, just the color changes. From there, you can try out the selfie option. This sets up a frame of different characters that puts your face in the mix. You can stand there with Darth Vader on Hoth or with Yoda in a Star Cruiser, plus a ton of others.

The fun continues with the soundboard. This has several of the best quotes from all the movies and a variety of characters built into your phone. Use these to goof around with friends or even make crank calls as Han Solo. After you’re done playing with that, switch over to the sound effects section and play with your own light saber and droid sounds.

The app also has a stream of information about the new movie (The Force Awakens), this day in Star Wars history as well as a countdown clock to the release date of Episode VII. For those of you that like sending gifs, there are about 25 built-in ones that create copies on your clipboard for easy sending. The content covers all six movies that have been released, as well as small clips from the new one that’s dropping in December.

If you hunt around, you’ll find a few other surprises. The only real issue is that it’s a BIG app. It takes up about 100MB of space and you have to download it over WiFi because the package size is so large. But for any true Star Wars fan, this is well worth it.
