Iceland’s Of Monsters and Men are going to get Beneath the Skin at the Greek.
After several years off from touring, Icelandic indie folk band Of Monsters and Men returned to the studio and just released their highly anticipated sophomore album, Beneath the Skin, last month. The band is heading back on the road again for a North American headlining tour that makes a a pit stop for L.A. music fans at the legendary Greek Theatre on Aug. 12 with special guest, Elle King. The band is set to perform songs from their newest album as well as hits from their debut, My Head Is an Animal.
From their beginnings as a quartet in an annual music competition in Iceland, Of Monsters and Men have captured the attention of music fans with their soulful sounds. In 2011, the band took the world by storm with their hit song “Little Talks,” which has since then gone four-times platinum. My Head Is an Animal has sold two-million copies worldwide.
The five-member band has been performing at musical festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Glastonbury and Coachella in addition to their own sold-out headlining tours. They have also impressed audiences as guest performers on “The Tonight Show,” “The Graham Norton Show” and “Saturday Night Live.”
Within the midst of music festivals and being guest performers on TV, the band has been featured in various projects. Their song “Dirty Paws” was featured in a trailer for the film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty starring Ben Stiller and also Apple’s iPhone 5 introduction video. Their other hit single “Silhouettes” was also featured on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack.
It is evident that Of Monsters and Men is one of the concerts you cannot miss out on this summer. Beneath the Skin is available in stores now.
