In the world of getting manicures and pedicures, there are many mom-and-pop shops throughout Los Angeles that you can try. Some are hit or miss, and some you don’t want to share with others because they’re that good. Sometimes when I visit nail salons, I find that there is either a language barrier or the salon is just not very sanitary. It’s also very difficult to find a multi-location spot that offers consistent results no matter where you go in the city. One of the most recognized and more affordable options is Nail Garden, which has just expanded to El Segundo/Manhattan Beach.

Nail Garden originally set up shop in Studio City in 2005, opened by USC alumna Reham Bastawros and her husband, Fady. Each location is pristinely clean and, for the most part, the service at each salon is exactly the same: warm and inviting. The new South Bay shop has the same décor as the other locations: soothing bluish/green walls and the multi-tiered case of the latest nail collections from OPI and other favorite brands.

Nail Garden features OPI Shellac, and the technicians are very skilled. The last time I had this service, my nails stayed chip free for over three weeks.

While the El Segundo/Manhattan Beach space is small, it’s located in the Plaza El Segundo, which houses ArcLight Beach Cities cinemas, Whole Foods, Drybar and Cost Plus, as well as eateries that include Veggie Grill. With all of the surrounding shops, you can plan a whole day of relaxation, shopping and dining.

The great thing about Nail Garden is that the prices are just right. Walking in, you would think you are going to be in for a hefty bill for your service, but you can get a regular manicure/pedicure for $30! That’s really the draw for Nail Garden – competitive pricing, extreme cleanliness and great customer service.
