Mitre is releasing a new self-titled album June 16, but you can preorder it today on iTunes.
Mitre is premiering his long awaited single, “Casi Un Recuerdo” (Almost a Memory), which features singer-songwriter Irene Díaz. The song is the first single from the new album, MITRE, which can now be found on iTunes along with other digital platforms for pre-order. Since being released on YouTube, the song has received 140 thousand views.
Mitre debuted his first album, Runaway, in 2010 and has since collaborated with artists that include: Ximena Muñoz, Jaime Kohen, David Garza, Margaret Cho, Iñaki Vázquez, Yuri Lemeshev, Pambo and Kalimba. Considered one of the promising alternative musicians in the Latin music scene, Mitre was named “The People’s Favorite Latin Artist” in 2011 by the radio station Italian FM.
The Mexican singer blends tango and traditional Mexican music, and performs in both English and Spanish, tearing down any cultural/language barriers. As for the new album, you can expect 11 tracks, along with a fusion of Spanish and English, and a mix of traditional melodies and instruments with an alternative sound.
Most recently, Mitre performed his new record at the Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills for audiences.
