Gerardo Ortiz joined his brother, Kevin, and Luis Coronel for the special #AsiEsMiHistoria Acoustic Sessions.
The new Latino MCN, Fenomeno Studios (part of EstrellaTV’s digital network) and MetroPCS, join forces to launch #AsiEsMiHistoria Acoustic Sessions, a special event with three of the most popular and top-selling regional Mexican artists.
Fenomeno Sessions: #AsiEsMiHistoria presented by MetroPCS officially launched on Oct. 9 at asiesmihistoria.com and runs through Nov. 4. Each Friday, a new session is going to be posted on the microsite and shared across social media and on Fenomeno Studios’ YouTube MCN. On Nov. 4, #AsiEsMiHistoria airs nationwide as a half-hour special on Estrella TV.
Regional Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz, who broke his own record for most No. 1s this year on the Top Latin Albums on the Billboard Charts since 2010, records the sessions along with his younger brother, Kevin Ortiz, and fellow Regional Mexican star, Luis Coronel.
Gerardo Ortiz hit mainstream success in 2010 with the album Ni Hoy Ni Mañana and its numerous hit singles. His latest release, Hoy Más Fuerte, entered Billboard’s Top Latin Albums at No. 1 and his tour Dos Mundos, Una Historia (Two Worlds, One Story) is one of the Top-Grossing Latin tours of the year.
“Un Minuto” was Kevin Ortiz’s first single released in July 2013, and it landed at the top of the iTunes Latino charts. He has performed at various award shows and was awarded a Billboard Latin Award for Best New Artist in 2013 among other accolades.
At 19 years of age, Luis Coronel became one of Regional Mexican music’s hottest stars, and one of the most popular artists in social media. He is the youngest solo artist in 13 years to hit No. 1 on Top Latin Albums with his second studio album, Quiero Ser Tu Dueño. This year, Coronel returns together with Ana Barbara, Don Cheto and Pepe Garza as a judge on the reality television competition show “Tengo Talento Mucho Talento” on Estrella TV.
In this one-time acoustic sessions, Coronel recorded many of his biggest hits while the superstar brothers, Gerardo and Kevin Ortiz, sang together and recorded a full set of some of their hit singles in a very laid back and intimate setting at Fenomeno Studios in Los Angeles in front of a limited audience of only 50 fans. Before their individual performances, each artist did a surprise live chat with fans using Twitter’s new live video-streaming app, Periscope, and during the recording of their individual sessions, the millennial superstars surprised the crowd by participating in a very emotional Q&A with the lucky fans who were present for the exclusive performance.
