If it's a sport in this city, Arash Markazi covers it. (arashmarkazi.com)
With the many sports teams that we are spoiled with here in Los Angeles, keeping up with them can be a bit overwhelming. Even though we have “SportsCenter” or other ways of staying on top of the latest news, sometimes that isn’t enough. Trades, injuries or other updates can happen out of nowhere, and most media outlets aren’t able to give you the news as soon as it happens.
However, with Twitter, sportswriters find out what is going on and are able to give you the news ASAP. If you’re like me and prefer to have the news as it’s breaking, here are three people you need to follow on Twitter.
Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) – Shelburne is a reporter for ESPN, covering everything from the Donald Sterling scandal to the Kings’ Stanley Cup run. She also fills in on ESPNLA 710 radio shows with “Mason & Ireland” or “Max & Marcellus.” Shelburne is best known for her insight on the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers during the regular season and the off season as well.
Bill Shaikin (@BillShaikin) – If you love baseball, this is the guy for you. Shaikin is a reporter that mostly covers the Angels and Dodgers for the Los Angeles Times. He is constantly updating Twitter with news and stats of the games that he is covering. He has tweeted things before that are sometimes hours ahead of “SportsCenter.” Because he mostly covers L.A. baseball teams, he also keeps current on what is going on around the MLB. During the recent trade deadline he offered great information on what was going on around the league.
Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) – He is perhaps one of the most popular reporters in Los Angeles. If it’s a sport in this city, he covers it – from the Kings and the Dodgers to the Lakers and even wrestling. Not only is he a great follow on Twitter ,but he is also a great follow on Instagram. Head over to see exclusive, behind-the-scenes photos at the world’s biggest sporting events.
Be the envy of all your friends by knowing what’s going on in the sports world by following these excellent reporters. I hope you enjoy following them as much as I do!
