The Pesto Stuffed Mushrooms at 118 Degrees are delectable.
Living Out Loud – Los Angeles attended a drink and small bites party for Tarzana’s newest health-food haven. Right off Ventura, 118 Degrees is nestled in the hustle and bustle of the city. They serving nothing but cuisine that’s made from freshest gourmet raw foods.
Their menu is entirely plant based and made from local organic produce when it’s in season. Everything is made from fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and sprouted grains. The place got its name from how everything is cooked at 118 degrees or lower to preserve the nutrients that make each food group represented valuable and healthy!
The vegan-friendly place serves dishes that are dairy free, soy free, wheat free and high in enzymes as well as vitamins and minerals. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner options to come in to eat or take to go. A cool option is to join their programs which include juicing diets and meal plans for your specific needs with the option to even get meals delivered to you.
When we were there we got to try a small selection from their bites menu for a taste of the place. Out of the three things we tried, here is how we rank them.
The Pesto Stuffed Mushrooms were delectable Cremini mushrooms stuffed with walnut pesto.
We couldn’t help but continuously munch on the Olive Pizettas made from 12-sprouted grain crust topped with pesto, sun dried tomato and herb marinara, marinated Italian vegetables, olives and basil cheese. It’s a super healthy flatbread like pizza minus the bread!
We thought the Coconut Ceviche was decent but a bit messy. It’s made out of 11 slivers of fresh coconut, mango or pineapples, cilantro and Green Onion, in spiced ceviche sauce. The carrot crisps they were served over fell apart easily, though.
We also got to try a banana cocoa mud pie, which isn’t on the online menu but a unique and tasty substitute for dessert if you have a sweet tooth.
