Singer-songwriter Ximena Sariñana recently announced that she will launch her “Ain’t Gonna Say No” tour around the U.S. on May 15 in Austin, TX at the Pachanga Festival.

Sariñana will then make appearances in El Paso, Houston, Chicago, Washington D.C., and other cities, more than 20 total. Up-and-coming artist Alex Ferreira will be opening for her throughout the tour.

As part of her U.S. tour, she will join Colombian star artist Juanes on his “Loco de Amor” tour as a guest artist, and she in turn will open his performances.

In an exclusive interview with Living Out Loud, Sariñana discusses her recent projects as well as what it means to sign along Juanes.

“This [tour] will take me all over the U.S.,” the 29-year-old Mexican says. “The first part of it has all been organized by my team, and the latter, which is very important, will be me opening for Juanes throughout his tour which for me, is an enormous opportunity to be a part of a very large and complete show.”

Besides participating in the Pachanga Festival, Sariñana will also make appearances at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on June 11, as well as the SummerStage Festival on July 11 in New York.6W56BstdJSw4bcTDIpP8ZB-i2UbWjZQx_jFkD1tuzi4

“I am very excited by all this,” she says. “We’re gonna be performing in several cities, and I’ll have the opportunity to share the stage with many great artists. It will also give me the opportunity to reach a great deal of people, which is fantastic.”

Sariñana also discusses how this union with Juanes and his tour came to fruition.

“Juanes was looking for someone to open for him. He and I knew each other from before, and we’ve worked together on a few things in the past,” she says. “I’m very happy to be a part of it all, because I admire him as an artist and he also happens to be an amazing person. He’s never allowed himself to be typecast, and he continues to strive for his career and never conforms.”

She adds, “He’s covered so much ground, and fused Colombian music with pop and rock, which is impressive. He knows what he’s doing, and anything he is involved in always has a high standard of quality, and that is of tremendous value.”

Both artists have never collaborated on any official or released projects, but being good friends they have not discarded the possibility of working on an album together in the future.

Sariñana is one of few artists who are truly complete – as suggested by her acting, singing and songwriting abilities. She has a truly original style, and her love for her craft is undeniable.

As far as her influences go, she tells us, “In one way or another, all the music I’ve heard has inspired me. I started off by listening to a lot of jazz, and then I discovered bolero. In Mexico, it’s very popular. I also have to admit that I listened to the likes of Julieta Venegas, Ely Guerra and Natalia Lafourcade.”

The tour is part of promotion for her new album, No Todo Le Puedes Dar, from which the hit single “Sin Ti No Puede Estar Tan Mal” originated. “Ruptura,” her second single, is already playing heavily on the radio.

“You will all see a very vibrant show, where we’ll be premiering a lot of new material as well as playing fan favorites,” she says of her potential on-stage set. “Above all, it will be a show that everyone can enjoy, and I can’t wait to get started.”

For the rest of 2015, Sariñana will return to acting in a web series that’s soon to be announced, as well as a musical collaboration with Ana Torroja and Carla Morrison.
