The author took time out to chat with Living Out Loud and give us his summer secrets to looking hot and feeling amazing inside out.
Living Out Loud: Tell us about Live, Look, Feel.
Jay Bradley: Live Look Feel is a life manual. It is a 12-week guide to help people Live longer, Look younger, and Feel better. I have taken everything that I learned over the years from the fields of health, wellness, lifestyle, spirituality and self help and combined it into one book. I wanted the reader to experience significant changes from the outside in and the inside out. The book is an interactive guide for everyone. By reading each section, committing to action and then chronicling their activity within the book, each reader can track their results and feel motivated by the progress they are making in the program.
LOL: What inspired you to write this book?
JB: I’ve overcome many obstacles in my life and during that process I discovered a lot about myself and how I can help others. This book was created to help people emotionally, physically, and spiritually depending on their specific needs. This is an easy read that sets realistic goals for positive results.
LOL: What do you consider the highlights of your book?
JB: I talk a lot in the book about getting through the blocks in all areas of life and the importance of loving yourself more. I have struggled with low self-esteem and depression for much of my life. People need to feel inspired to make deep changes within themselves, and I crafted the program to motivate the reader at every step. The fact that you will look younger too doesn’t hurt.
LOL: What are your tips for beauty, health, and fitness for this coming summer?
JB: The biggest summer tips for beauty are about getting back to basics. Creating your own scrubs, masks, and moisturizers at home using coconut oil, shea butter, avocado, essential oils, sea salts, and brown sugar are so popular. I am also loving Ultherapy treatment, a nonsurgical way to lift, tone and tighten your skin using ultrasound technology. Its safe and time-tested making it a must have for the summer.
As we think about health and fitness for the summer, we know that everybody wants to lose body fat and get toned. Try doing interval cardio training which involves sprinting for short periods with 90-second cool downs in between for only 20 minutes, 3 days per week. You’ll burn fat, build muscle, and release HGH the anti-aging hormone.
LOL: Any new trends for the summer you can share?
JB: The trend to trim down this summer also involves eating more healthy fats such as avocado, nuts, seeds, wild-caught fish, and coconut. This will stimulate the fat-burning process and help you to feel satiated longer. Doing some strength and resistance training using light weights and high repetitions is sure to get you toned and tight for your bikini.
This summer is also about taking time out. Make sure that you spend time meditating, journaling, reflecting, and daydreaming about the life you truly want to live. There has never been a better time to commit to quality ‘you-time.’
LOL: How did you get started in this field?
JB: I started out with my own workouts at the age of 13. I became passionate about learning and mastering my own body and have experimented on myself for the past 33 years. I was a very sick kid so I was forced to learn how I could feel better along the way. I began as a fitness trainer, and then further studied Reiki, hypnosis, nutrition, and overall wellness.
LOL: What is one of the biggest challenges with your role as a wellness coach?
JB: One of the biggest challenges in my business is staying on top of all of the latest research. There are always new studies about supplements, foods, etc…and often studies will conflict. This is where I tend to use common sense, intuition, and experience to guide me.
