Hot 92.3’s Hot Summer Nights Presents 90’s Night Out

What do Blackstreet, Jagged Edge, K-Ci & JoJo, After 7, Shai, and Next all have in common? They perform Saturday, July 5 at the Greek Theatre, starting at 7 p.m.
The show, dubbed 90’s Night Out, features some of the most prominent R&B acts of the mid- to late-1990s and early 2000s. Blackstreet, Jagged Edge, K-Ci & JoJo and Next headline the concert, but After 7 and Shai prove to be solid performers, too.
Blackstreet became extremely popular with their 1996 hit “No Diggity.” The track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Jagged Edge’s “Where the Party At” and “Let’s Get Married” were some favorite R&B tunes of the early 2000s.
Brother duo K-Ci & JoJo (aka Cedric and Joel Hailey) professionally launched their careers in the early 1990s as part of the quartet Jodeci, but it wasn’t until the releases of their romantic track “All My Life” in 1998 that they became music phenoms. “Life,” “Tell Me It’s Real” and “Crazy” were just a few more hits from the brothers.
Next’s notable songs from the 1990s were “Too Close” and “Wifey.”
After 7 and Shai are sure to provide soothing R&B vocals for those who get to the venue early.
