Huichol Musical is one musical act set to perform at this year’s Dia de los Muertos Festival Oct. 24.
Hollywood Forever Cemetery announced today that Grammy-nominated Mexican quintet Huichol Musical is going to perform at the 16th edition of their Dia de los Muertos Festival on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015.
Huichol Musical are known for mixing indigenous culture with contemporary musical styles. The band, originally out of the Sierra Madre Occidental region of Jalisco, Mexico, takes its name from the Huichol, an indigenous Mexican ethnic group whom the Aztecs called “the Ancient Ones.”
Tickets are available now at hollywoodforever.ticketfly.com. A limited number of Early Bird tickets priced at $10 are available while supplies last (A maximum of two discounted tickets per customer is allowed.).
The theme of the festival is “Shamanic Visions of the Huichol,” honoring and highlighting Huichol culture, as well as their unique and strikingly colorful artistic representations of life and death.
A source close to the situation says that a major music act is headlining this year’s Dia de los Muertos Festival lineup. More event cultural and dance performers, musical acts including the headliner and the official poster are going to be revealed in the near future.
