Ms. Lauryn Hill graces the Belasco Theater stage this Wednesday.
The legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill is set to take the stage this week at the Belasco Theater. On Wednesday, March 2, the founding member of iconic R&B group the Fugees performs at the music venue in downtown Los Angeles.
Known for changing the game in music, Ms. Hill is one of music’s first ladies. After pioneering the sound that fused hip hop, soul and caribbean beats with the Fugees in songs like the chart-topping hit “Killing Me Softly,” she went on to become a solo artist.
With the The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, she set her place in hip hop and R&B. Being an incredible writer and activist, her music transcended regular radio tracks with her neo soul vibe. The album went on to garner her five Grammys including Album of the Year with her chart topping tracks “Doo-Wop (That Thing),” “Ex-Factor” and “Everything Is Everything.”
No matter the time that has gone by since that album, her timeless music still resonates as strongly as it did then. Isn’t that a testament to music: Having tracks that stand the test of time and go on to become classics? Don’t miss Ms. Lauryn Hill this Wednesday!
