Tonkotsu ramen is going to be the entree at Oh Man! Ramen’s Feastly pop-up next week.
Even if summer temperatures are blazing hot, nothing satisfies like a good bowl of ramen. Give me a bowl of soft yet chewy noodles soaked in a pork broth, and I’m a happy camper. Ask any ramen lover, and they’ll tell you that it’s always about the broth.
Chefs Luke Reyes (the Corner Door) and Philip Frankland Lee (“Top Chef” Season 13) are set to open Oh Man! Ramen later this summer in Encino, and their ramen features a Tonkotsu broth that has simmered for at least 48 hours. Angelenos can get a sneak preview of the new restaurant at a Feastly pop-up next Tuesday, June 28, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in Downtown’s Arts District.
The menu features a Tiki Style Punch Bowl or Sapporo beer beverage, fried-then-grilled chicken wings in a honey and fermented chili glaze, salmon sashimi, chilled spicy noodles with steamed mussels, crisp lettuce with a nori sesame ranch and, of course, a piping hot bowl of Tonkotsu ramen. The dinner is $65 per person, and tickets can be purchased at eatfeastly.com/meals/d/19590828/oh-man-ramen-pop-up/?rf=fwebcmktshrecopy.
