Hollywood actors are more and more moving from conventional roles in films to voice acting themselves in video games. This is because over the last few years, the gaming industry has overtaken the movie industry in terms of revenue.
In June of 2019, superstar Keanu Reeves made a surprise appearance at E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Matrix stud announced that he would appear in the role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 as a non-playable character named Johnny Silverhand.
Reeves said that gaming does not need legitimizing. In all truth, the gaming industry does not need it. For years, gaming has surpassed film in not just revenue, but popularity, too.
