It’s the season to be selfish, when it comes down to doing the best thing yourself. We are all consumed with the idea of sharing everything we do or accomplish with a significant person, but in reality it shouldn’t be that way. Feel good about doing things your own way and on your own. Own It!

Being Single – Especially if you’re young. This is the time to be selfish and explore. Give yourself the chance to get to know you and see what the world and other people have to offer. Don’t feel bad about having the time of your life.

Saying “no” to plans with someone – Have you been working a lot? Do you feel kind of tired, and all you want to do is just lay in bed, watch a movie and eat endless pizza? Well, saying “no” to a friend when they want to hangout does not make you a bad friend. Everyone needs time to himself/herself.

Saying “I’m not interested” right off the bat when someone asks for your number – Even though they’re intentions might not be to hook up, giving your number out to someone means you’re giving them leisure space to make a connection with you. Don’t feel bad if, right from the get-go, you tell the other person that you’re not interested.

Sleeping instead of being productive – Do you ever get some kind of motivation on Instagram from quotes like “I come from a family that hustles, so that means I’m bound to get mine” or something along those lines? Yeah, we all do. Reality is, everyone is out here trying to get rich, but not everyone will be. Don’t feel bad if you want to have a numerous amount of unproductive days, because that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not getting work done. As a matter a fact, take some days of being unproductive and relax. Once you get back to being productive you’ll have a little more motivation.

Watching a TV show that is clearly for a 13-year-old – We all have our guilty pleasures.  Keeping it a secret or not, that’s up to you. If you enjoy a show that airs on Disney Channel, who cares! Do what you want, and watch what you like.
