Don’t miss the fun at Lucha VaVOOM’s Cinco de Mayan extravaganza May 5 and 6.
The Mexican masked wrestlers, burlesque dancers and comedians are back for Lucha VaVOOM’s annual two-night spectacular, Cinco de Mayan, May 5 and 6 at the Mayan in Downtown. All of your favorite wrestlers like the Crazy Chickens, Extreme Tiger, Piñatita and Doctor Maldad and burlesque performers (Leigh Acosta, Molly D’amour and Miss Marquez) are taking center stage.
This year promises even more outlandish fun with the addition of folkloricos, mariachis and Aztec dancers. Guerrero Maya, Jr. (CMLL luchador from Mexico City) faces off with Magno, Mexican electro-pop band Titán (featuring Bananarama vocalist Siobhan Fahey) are set to perform and there is sure to be lowrider, tamales and tequila aplenty.
Since its founding in 2002 by Rita D’Albert and Liz Fairbairn, Lucha VaVOOM has made a name for itself as one of the city’s most beloved events. Don’t miss the surreal spectacle that marries sexo and violencia for a Cinco de Mayo that could never be forgotten.
