Our skin takes a toll with cool Winter weather. There are a few Do It Yourself (DIY) remedies that can help you fight harsh winter weather.
Oatmeal and Honey Facial Mask – Every Winter or when I feel my face gets a little dry, I try this to hydrate and soothe my skin. The facial mask is easy enough for you to do about once a week depending on how dry your face is. Add one cup of dry oats and half a cup of warm water to a blender and blend until the oats are nice and thinly ground. Pour this mixture into a small bowl and add a 1/4 cup of honey. Mix really well. Apply to face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes then rinse with warm water.
Brown Sugar Scrub – You can tell Winter is around the corner if you feel your lips getting chapped. To fix this, I go into my kitchen a make a homemade lip scrub. I grab one tablespoon of brown sugar and one tablespoon of olive oil and mix it. I apply a pea size amount on to lips while rubbing in a circular motion. This will buff off any dead or flaky skin.
Coffee Grounds Body Scrub – Not only will this body scrub help you reduce the appearance of cellulite, it also will help exfoliate dead dry skin from your body. Before you decide to throw out your coffee grounds from your coffee maker, recycle them. Simply blend your leftover coffee grounds with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and apply it in the shower to help condition and soften skin. Simply rinse with warm water and voila smooth skin once again.
