Now that the summer is here, it’s more than likely you’ll be adding brighter hues to your wardrobe, but perhaps a simpler, sun-kissed beauty look would go better with your summer style. Adding a bronzer to your beauty routine is a great way to have a nice healthy glow for this season. With this look you won’t go full throttle experimenting with different hues on your face, it’s time for a more subtle and glowing skin look.
Cream bronzers are among the most foolproof formulas on the market because they just require a little blending. Although powders are my favorites, they are a little harder to apply, and you don’t want to have a muddy look. Makeup girls around the world know exactly what I’m talking about.
To offset the bronzer you need a great highlighter. I recommend: Revlon’s PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator in Beach Bronze, which you can find at your local drugstore. Apply this to the top if your cheek bones, the bridge of your nose, your cupid’s bow and your chin. This instantly adds life back to tired skin, and you’ll have the Victoria Secret model look as well. Another great highlighter that is always in my makeup kit is Candlelight Glow Duo by Too Faced. It comes with two different shades: golden pink and white gold.
Now, for the fun part, the bronzer. I’m extremely picky with mine because I use it all year long. My favorite one right now is one by Tarte Cosmetics named Park Ave Princess. I bought the first one with my Aqualillies palette that they launched for last summer, and it instantly became my favorite. It’s very smooth and blendable. It also has a great color payoff, which is a huge plus since less product is needed. This shade is also a matte bronzer. It’s important to use a matte shade since the shimmer in most will give you a muddy, dirty look that, for summertime, is a total nightmare.
With these products you’ll be able to create a simple, clean, glowing beauty look that doesn’t require a lot of contouring skills. If you’re a makeup girl on a budget, Physicians Formula and e.l.f. offer great affordable options that you can find at Target stores and other local drugstores.
