Burning Spear headlines KCRW's World Festival's 15th annual Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl this Sunday.
Nothing could be finer than letting the sounds of live reggae soothe the soul as you sway in time to the rhythm and take in a brilliant summer sunset. Luckily for Angelenos, KCRW’s World Festival hosts a yearly celebration of reggae at the legendary Hollywood Bowl. This Sunday, June 26, marks the 15th annual concert, and the lineup is one to go down in the record books.
Jamaican roots reggae singer, musician, Rastafarian, Educator, political activist and all-around cultural icon Burning Spear headlines Reggae Night XV. Soak in his wisdom in between performances of songs from albums like his 1973 self-titled debut, Rocking Time, Marcus Garvey and Jah Is Real. Make sure to savor every moment, as this is going to be Burning Spear’s final performance in California.
KCRW’s Jeremy Sole hosts the entire evening, while soulful singer-songwriter Etana warms up the crowd with the opening performance for the night. Ky-mani Marley is sure to keep the positive vibes flowing right up until Burning Spear takes the stage. This is definitely a Reggae Night not to miss.
