Spanish singer-songwriter and producer Camilo Sesto, one of the all-time greats from the Bolero genre, will be making his final appearance in Los Angeles as part of his “Todo de Mi” (All of Me) tour on November 6 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Born in Spain on September 16, 1946 Sesto rose to prominence as one of the leading artists in the 1970s and 80s, widely considered to be the golden age of Bolero music. His fame spread throughout Europe and around the globe, and to this day remains one of the most recognizable artists throughout the Americas. His music even reached as far as Japan.
After 25 albums, most of which he produced and composed himself, he has sold over 166 million copies of his work. Even more impressive, is that he holds the record for most “number 1s” by a Spanish-speaking artist in the world – 52 in total. His voice and style are characterized by their elegance and flexibility (he is known to master 3 octaves).
Not only has Sesto left his undeniable mark in the world of music, but has also helped launch the career of several other artists, including Angela Carrasco, Lucia Mendez, Sergio Fachelli, Jose Jose and Miguel Bose, among others.
Sesto recently spoke about his upcoming performance in LA. “Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by fans such as you in L.A.?? That’s where I’ll be on November 6, so together we can celebrate life.”
As part of his tour, Sesto will also visit countries throughout the Americas, starting in Mexico. A tour around Spain consisting of 15 dates has also been confirmed for 2016.
