Marina del Rey’s Café del Rey will host the world-renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery for a special evening of Bourbon-themed dining and fun on Thursday, March 6.
Café del Rey’s Executive Chef Chuck Abair will present his special Four Course Prix-Fixe Menu, exclusively for this event, which focuses on hearty cuts of meat, and each meal is paired with a carefully-selected selection of Bourbon.
Menu selections include:
Smoked Trout with potato salad, pickled vegetables, and watercress (Bourbon Pairing – Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon 10 year); Pan Roasted Sea Bass with crayfish, mushroom ragout, kale, and cayenne oil (Bourbon Pairing – Buffalo Trace Bourbon); Braised Rabbit with black-eyed peas, trinity, and braising greens (Bourbon Pairing – E.H. Taylor 100 Proof Whiskey); Wild Boar with grits, ham hocks, squash, and okra (Bourbon Pairing- Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon); and Blackberry and Pecan Pie with savory ice cream, and whiskey sauce (Bourbon Pairing- Buffalo Trace “White Dog”).
A representative from Buffalo Trace Distillery will also be on hand to guide guests through the Bourbon tastings and sample a special selection of their Bourbon cocktails.
The special Prix-Fixe dinner is $85 per person, and reservations are encouraged.
