Bodhi Tree Collections have debuted two new lines of authentic home décor products created exclusively by Asian artisans.

Finding inspiration in traditional artisanal handcrafts from Southeast Asia, Michelle S. Phillips – being the savvy business woman that she is – knew that she could build a niche for herself here in the United States with her sophisticated, eco-friendly products.

“I’m not re-creating the wheel. I’m seeing the beautiful things that people have created, and with an understanding of the demand in the U.S., I put one and one together to develop something even greater for everyone involved,” says the Bodhi Tree Collections founder in a press release.

Being that all of us are trying to be more green and eco-friendly, why not enjoy our green morning smoothies amidst organic home décor.

I absolutely love this collection, especially the Design Lacquer containers. The traditional process of creating lacquerware has been developed and refined in local villages throughout the Southeast Asia region over the past 3,000 years. From start to finish, creating a single piece of lacquerware can take up to 115 days, according to Bodhi Tree Collections.

My piece is really special; it’s in the design of a big leaf with a little silver cricket right on top. One thing that stood out was that each container comes with a little card explaining something about what the product symbolizes.

My little card says: “Crickets remind us to stay balanced and grounded. They are welcome visitors to a new home since they bring good fortune, happiness and prosperity wherever they land.”

Since I practice yoga and try to watch my carbon footprint, this line really speaks to me. You don’t have to purchase overly exaggerated, gaudy home décor to make your space look great.  All you need is a simple piece, and if it’s organic, eco-friendly and has some history behind it, count me in!

From Central Florida, where Bodhi Tree is currently based out of, the collection is sold by retailers in their home state and quickly expanding across the country. I can’t wait to invest in some more pieces. For now, I love my cricket lacquered piece. I haven’t found what exactly I’m going to store in it, but knowing myself I will probably fill it with jewelry or simply put it on my coffee table so it can welcome all my guests. Thank you, Bodhi Tree Collections, I love my piece.
