On Saturday, December 14th, Bergamot Station celebrates the spirit of the holidays with its annual Holiday Open House. The event will run from noon till 5:00 pm. Galleries will feature small, affordable art works, as well as larger works for sale. Refreshments and sweets will be served.
Stop by Skidmore Contemporary Art to purchase Kelly Reemtsen’s new book, I’m Falling. It’s the perfect holiday gift. You’ll even have the chance to meet the artist and go home with a signed copy. Kelly will be signing books between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Skidmore Contemporary Art will be celebrating the book launch and opening of the exhibition “Open Invitation” of new pastels by Kelly Reemtsen. The book collects the paintings, pastels, prints and sculptures Kelly has created over the past several years. Also featured in the book is an interview with the artist over a two-year span. The artist recounts her process and talks about her inspirations and continued artistic exploration of women. On view through December 21st, Skidmore Contemporary Art (D-2)
Kelsey Shell, of ROSEGALLERY admits that art makes a wonderful gift.

The gallery will offer a reception and book signing from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for Jo Ann Callis’ new book Decór, published by Thistle & Weed Press. On view is the current exhibition, Abelardo Morell Outside In. Morell is also currently the subject of a fantastic solo show at the Getty, which is on view until January when it moves to the High Museum in Atlanta.
City Garage (T1) holds sale featuring props and costumes etc. as a fundraiser for the theatre with entertainment, clowns, stilt walkers, plus a Steel Drum Band from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The Lois Lambert Gallery (E3) is currently showing “Machine Muse,” a Kinetic Art group show, curated by Jim Jenkins and Dave Quick. The Gallery of Functional Art has many unique and creative gifts for all of your holiday needs, made by LA-based artist, artists from across the United States and the world. Enjoy a jewelry trunk show with artist Joe Polthakorn, hot cider and holiday cookies and live performances by musical group “Turek and Friends.”
EarthWe (D-5) will host a Holiday Art Projects event sponsored by Lakeshore Learning from 12 – 4pm. Art materials will be supplied for children. dnj Gallery (J1) offers some gift options with its Holiday miniature photograph series. Ruth Bachofner Gallery presents the work of Laura Fayen is “Second Nature” as well as a Small Works Group Show. William Turner Gallery features installation photographs and paintings from its current exhibition, Skin/Deep: Materiality, Sensuality and Paint. Shoshana Wayne Gallery also features a solo show of new work by Rachel Lachowicz.
