AT&T, sponsor of both the U.S. Men’s National Team and Mexico’s National Team, will be hosting their “One World One Party” events in select cities around the country in celebration of this year’s FIFA World Cup.

The events will offer soccer fans in the U.S. a one-of-a-kind experience of the World Cup festivities in Brazil through virtual reality technology. The events will also feature special menus by local celebrity chefs, samba dancers, live DJs and special appearances by soccer legends.spring_sweeps_tstand_bilingual

If that wasn’t enough, each event will broadcast a group stage match. The events begin in Los Angeles on June 13 with Mexico vs. Cameron, and will continue in New York on June 16 with USA vs. Ghana, San Diego on June 17 with Mexico vs. Brazil, Miami on June 22 with USA vs. Portugal, Houston on June 23 with Mexico vs. Croatia, and will conclude in Chicago on June 26 with the highly anticipate match between USA and Germany, one of the favorites to win it all this year.

Fans around the country can enter a special sweepstakes where they and their “team” of 11 friends can win tickets to the event. The contest winner, or the “team captain,” will also win a prize package which includes a device from AT&T.

Review: An Essential Documentary for Angelenos, East LA Interchange

Boyle Heights in East Los Angeles is now a predominantly Mexican-American community known for a high crime rate, yet the history of the neighborhood is not a static one. The neighborhood that now boasts a community that is over 90-percent Latino was once one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Los Angeles, with sizable Jewish, Asian and African-American populations before changes in the laws and post-war development caused a shift in the population to what it is today. The documentary East LA Interchange chronicles the history of this neighborhood, telling the stories of those who lived there decades ago as well as those who make up the current community.
