Mike Trout has agreed to sign a six-year contract with the Angels. The contract is expected to be north of $140 million.
Trout receives a full no-trade clause.
The deal, which is now official, buys out Trout’s three arbitration years and his first three years of free agency, something the Angels were hoping to do. Trout will become a free agent at the age of 29.
Trout, 22, registered 57 homers, 238 runs scored, and 82 stolen bases over the last two seasons.
Earlier this year, Trout and the Angels agreed on a $1 million contract for 2014. That became the highest ever for a pre-arbitration player.
