The one-and-only mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor is set to portray Carmen in “Carmen in Concert”, presented by The Opera Buffs Inc. Carmen-buffs

The world-renowned opera star is joined by Charles Castronovo as Don Jose, Vanessa Vasquez as Micaela and special guest star Rod Gilfry as Escamillo in this must-see show on Sunday, Aug. 20 2017 at Zipper Concert Hall at the Colburn School at 2 p.m. in Los Angeles.

The concert opera features a full orchestra, chorus and subtitles in English of Georges Bizet’s Carmen.

Tickets are available for $125 to the general public and $100 for members online via brownpapertickets.com. For more information, call (323) 356-0047. Ticket sales benefit young singers building careers in opera.

A Gala Reception with the artists will follow the performance.

The Opera Buffs is a California non-profit corporation dedicated to providing emerging talented opera singers with funds and performing opportunities at the start of their professional careers. In its 36 year history over 500 artists have been recipients of their support. All the singers appearing in the gala concert opera were Opera Buff grant recipients at the start of their careers. The stars are graciously returning to help raise additional funds for the future stars of tomorrow.

The Zipper Concert Hall at the Colburn School is located at 200 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90012.
