The 6th Annual Experience, Strength and Hope Awards will be held on Thursday, February 26 at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
The Experience, Strength and Hope Award is given in recognition of an individual’s honest memoir including their journey though addiction to recovery, and their dedication and enthusiasm for carrying the ‘message’ to a society awash in addiction. This year’s honoree is actor and author Joe Pantoliano for his memoir Asylum.
Ed Begley Jr. hosts the event, which includes a performance by comedian Mark Lundholm and special spoken word performance by poet/novelist Dan Fante. It also contains appearances by Mackenzie Phillips and Sharon Lawrence, and celebrities Daniel Baldwin, Mayra Leal, and William ‘Billy’ Baldwin.
The event includes catered cuisine and 90-minute social soiree. Tickets are $50 with proceeds benefiting Writers In Treatment, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization grounded in recovery and the arts. The organization produces the national multi-city REEL Recovery Film Festival & Symposium.
