We’ve all been through this: leading a man on. The result? He says he wants to date you.

Here are some tips on how to avoid leading a man on.

1. Avoid hanging out 1:1

Being together alone is a sign that you might be into him. Giving him some attention tells him that you’re interested in spending some quality time together so you can get to know each other on another level.

2. Avoid constant contact

Sometimes it’s hard for a guy to take a hint when you are constantly giving him “excuses” when he asks you to hang out. Of course avoiding constant contact with someone you’re not interested is common, but if somehow constant contact occurs with the two of you, just kindly explain that you rather not speak to him as much as he would like because you’re not interested.

3. Avoid flirtatious acts

Ladies we all know the common flirtatious acts. Whether is calling him names, hitting him slightly and the casual hug you do when you say bye to each other. Well, if you are doing these things you are definitely leading him on. There is no doubt that he thinks you’re into him. So if you want to make sure he’s in the friend zone, do no do these acts whatsoever!

4. Don’t give him special treatment

It’s important that you do not treat him any different than your other guys friends. If you don’t want to give him any hope that there might be something between the both of you, then you have to make sure that he knows he is being treated equally as the others. Don’t give him any priorities over anything that might give him a hint that you might be into him.

5. Don’t be too nice

When we have friends, we are nice. But there’s a difference of being nice than too nice. Sometimes being too nice to a guy can leave the wrong impression. Of course, have your manners and be a good friend to him, but that’s it. Don’t go ahead and give him $100 all the time he’s in need because he might just think you’re either his sugar momma or that you’re into him, and that’s the reason why you’re always helping him out. This is a sad example, but it does happen all over the world.

6. Be honest

If you have noticed some signs that he’s into you, such as him texting you often, wanting to hang out with you, etc., just be calm and ask if him he’s into you. If he says yes, then kindly explain that you’re not interested. If he says no, don’t feel embarrassed for asking, simply smile, explain your curiosity, and tell him how much you appreciate him as a FRIEND!
