The California Strawberry Festival takes place May 16 & 17, 2015 at the Strawberry Meadows of College Park in Oxnard, Calif.

This weekend, the city of Oxnard will officially be taken over by strawberries.

Yep, you guessed it.

Just days from now marks the 31st annual California Strawberry Festival. The event will be held at the Strawberry Meadows of College Park on Saturday and Sunday (May 16-17), and is sure to be a weekend filled with family fun.

Whether you come for the food, the games, the music, or simply to browse the arts and crafts exhibitors, the California Strawberry Festival will not disappoint. The event will feature over 50 food and beverage booths, offering unique treats like strawberry pizza, deep fried strawberries, and even strawberry beer. But the good eats don’t stop there. Giant Calamari, funnel cake, and margaritas are all festival favorites, and are sure to be on the menu.

The games at the California Strawberry Festival cater to patrons of all ages, and are sure to bring out the kid in you. From the Berry Best Dressed Baby Contest to the Strawberry Tart Toss, children and adults alike can indulge their competitive spirit, and get covered in delicious strawberries at the exact same time.

Attending the festival as part of a group? Well then you’ve already got your team for the Strawberry Relay Race!

Over 200 artists and crafters from all over the United States will have their original works on display and for sale. Everything from paintings, to bottle art, to children’s toys and baby clothes will be exhibited. Take your time and browse the booths. But be sure to stop at the bulk strawberry stand first, so you have something to snack on along your way.

Best of all, one hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will benefit over 20 Southern California charities. So don’t hold back. Eat all of the delicious treats your heart desires.
