Liars, King Khan & the Shrines, and The Raveonettes will headline Culture Collide, FILTER Magazine’s yearly festival in Los Angeles.
The eclectic event will take place next weekend, October 9-12, in various locations in Echo Park.
Culture Collide is – as of yet – not as large-scale as other music festivals in Los Angeles like FYF or HARD, but it undeniably has its own charm. This event transforms the entire eastside, including local restaurants, galleries and warehouses into unique music and entertainment venues that offer music from all over the globe.
Every year the streets are flooded by the local community and music fans who come out to enjoy a weekend of diverse fun. More than 25 countries are slated to participate in the festivities that are to feature music, comedy, industry panels, and happy hours.
Now on its fourth year, the ‘block party,’ continues to grow its reputation for exposing new talent and offering local talent as well as music from all over the world right to L.A.’s own backyard. Where else are you going to get three days of music and entertainment for only $30?
Aside from the aforementioned acts, this year’s multi-fun experience will include DJ sets by Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes of the celebrated British band Primal Scream.
And if that’s not enough also confirmed are: Miami Horror (Australia), Iceage (Denmark), The Men (US), Rob Crow (Acoustic, US), Medicine (US), Alice Russell (UK), No Joy (Canada), Plastic Plates (AU), Mumiy Troll (Russia), The Great Wilderness (Costa Rica), SiMoN (Japan), StereonoiZ (Peru), Iza Lach (Poland), Prāta Vētra (Latvia), Chateau Marmont (France), Maya Vik (Norway), Funeral Suits (Ireland), Mujuice (Russia), Hell Shovel (Greece, Germany, Canada, France), Wooster (US), Okta Logue (Germany), Instrumenti (Latvia), DENA (Bulgaria), and PanSTARRS (Egypt), among others.
The festival will also feature a two-day summit with a keynote innovators panel curated by Moby which includes Shepard Fairey, Dhani Harrsion and more.
